One of our favorite things about this time of year is the decor! We always get excited decorate our houses to create a festive, cozy environment. We both have different ways of decorating, but we both achieve a welcoming holiday house! Abby's HouseWe will start with the bookshelf! I like to add pops of decor for each holiday. It's a great way to use simple decor to spruce up your spot. First, the bowl of ornaments is a great way to decorate your house and repurpose extra ornaments. Not only is this festive, but it's affordable! I found the bowl at the Dollar Tree and the ornaments are from Walmart (they came in a large tub). Next, the pointe shoe with the nutcracker was a gift from my mom. This came from my time as a ballerina with the Northeast Ballet Company. Each year at the Nutcracker Tea there would be decorated pointe shoes for sale, it was such a thoughtful gift and a great memory! Finally, the Let it Snow sign is from the dollar section at Target! I believe it was $3.00! Next to it is a blue mason jar filled with pinecones dusted with gold glitter. This is a great DIY and another affordable decor idea! Next are my trees! We have two because we recently moved into a bigger home and we decided to keep our small tree from our one-bedroom apartment (our cat loves it). Our main tree is downstairs next to our stockings, one for our cat and dog as well! It has all of our special ornaments as well as the gold and silver bulbs. This tree is topped with our "Tree Bear", when my fiancé was a kid he wanted to put his stuffed bear on the top of the tree...that is how Tree Bear came to be! Our smaller tree is at the top of our staircase. We decided to keep this one simple this year and use white garland and a red bow on top. This is still our cat's favorite tree! We also have a few small decor items on top of our (very old) stereo. First, the chalkboard on the left has our wedding date on it and it is next to a Yankee Candle with one of our engagement photos. Next to the candle we placed a candy cane candle tray (found it at Tj Maxx!) with a bouquet of christmas flowers. On the end is a glittery bronze Christmas tree with a Yankee Candle tart burner. The string lights infront of everything are battery operated and shaped like Christmas ornaments. I found this in the dollar section at Target as well! Finally, in the kitchen I have this oven mit set with snowflakes and deer. I believe this set was around $4.00 at Walmart. I also have the matching kitchen towel, but it was being used when I was taking photos for the blog! Carly's HouseOne of the first things you'll see at my house is the stuffed snowman collection, proudly displayed. Every year I give my mom a new stuffed snowman for Christmas! Our stuffed snowmen are displayed right above our Christmas tree. Next is our Christmas tree! This tree is filled with ornaments that my mom and I have collected since I was little. Every year we get each other new ornaments to add to our tree for the next Christmas. Finally, our ceramic snow baby village is one of our favorite Christmas decor pieces. Together, we have collected ceramics and created this festive village! Since we began collecting the snow baby village has grown and will continue to grow with each passing Christmas. We would love to hear about your holiday decor! Comment below your favorite holiday decoration! With Love,
